What an amazing summer it was! I have been so blessed with so many great photographic opportunities this year that I haven’t spent much time updating my blog and photographic travels. So over the next few weeks and months I will try to update you all on what I have been up to.
I was really excited when I was commissioned this year to photograph the opening week for The World Series of Poker. The whole WSOP team was incredible to work with and I had the opportunity to photograph some of poker’s most famous and greatest players. I spent a week hanging out at The Rio Las Vegas photographing the pros and amateurs alike all looking to get a piece of the millions of dollars at stake. As a Reno Photographer I have been very familar with poker and The World Series of Poker for many years. Watching it every year on ESPN is always exciting. Watching it live is 10 times cooler! For those of you who are not familiar it is the “World’s Biggest, Richest, Longest-Running and Most Prestigious Poker Series”. It even brings out many celebrities who are looking to play, win, and make their mark on the tournament. One of these celebrities was the 22 time olympic medal winning swimmer Michael Phelps. He was pretty fun to watch play and did a great job putting up with all the media and observer attention.
Even Bruce Buffer official Octagon announcer for my favorite sport UFC came out to play!
Of course there were numerous professional poker players all looking to increase their winnings and rank in the poker world. Here are few photos of the poker super stars.
It was pretty awesome to see the first bracelet winner of the 2013 World Series of Poker Trevor Pope win nearly 500k and celebrate with his service dog and good luck charm Revis!
To give you an idea of the number of poker players that attend The World Series of Poker check out this Time Lapse I photographed and edited of the opening day!
I hope you loved some of these photos and had fun reading about my photo adventures. If you did enjoy this post please share it with your friends and family. Stay tuned for more photography and follow me on Facebook www.facebook.com/marcellorostagniphotography
